Step on the Gas?

Synopsis

The greenhouse horticulture sector is experiencing a decisive period. The energy crisis, as well as government policy, underscore the urgency of sustainability. The documentary "Gas Erop?: Greenhouse Horticulture in Transition" shows how five different growers from the Westland region are preparing for the future. We see that the sector is still heavily dependent on fossil fuels. Are the current climate goals realistic? And does Dutch greenhouse horticulture still have a future? The documentary will be broadcast in its entirety on Omroep West and as a three-part series on local broadcaster WOS.

Behind the scènes

(The challenge)

Nectar Café had established itself as a cozy, local spot, beloved by regulars for its atmosphere and quality. However, the brand faced three major challenges:

  1. A lack of distinct visual identity meant the cafe didn’t stand out in a crowded market.
  2. Digital presence was minimal — social media posts were inconsistent and lacked strategic focus.
  3. Foot-traffic growth and online visibility had plateaued despite strong in-store reviews.

(The solution)

We partnered with Nectar Café to rebuild their brand from the ground up and lift their visibility online and off. Our approach comprised:

Brand strategy and identity
  • Conducted a workshop to define the cafe’s personality, audience, and unique value (community, comfort, craft).
  • Developed visual and verbal identity: refreshed logo, colour palette, typography, brand voice.
Creative design and collateral
  • Redesigned in-store signage, menus, packaging, and takeaway materials to reflect the new identity.
  • Created a library of high-quality assets: hero photography, lifestyle imagery, stylised typography for social.
Digital marketing and social strategy
  • Launched a content calendar covering Instagram and Facebook: weekly posts, stories, promotions to engage local audience.
  • Ran targeted local-area ads to bring new visitors: “Come discover us” offers with limited-time specials.
  • Implemented simple analytics tracking: foot-traffic uplift, engagement rates, new-follower growth.
